One of 3 species of sundew endemic to the British Isles. Widespread throughout circumpolar regions, occurring 0 – 2000m above sea level. Mentioned in Gerard’s Herball 1597 and described therein as “marvellous”. Charles Darwin was also fascinated by this plant. Rosettes of spoon-shaped leaves, to 55mm in diameter. Halotolerant, calcifuge. Winter dormancy. Easy to moderate.
