The Carnivorous Plant Society

The Carnivorous Plant Society is a registered Charity, founded in 1978 with the aim of bringing together all those interested in carnivorous plants, both beginners and experts. Membership is open to all individuals and institutions, both amateur and professional.

Field Trip

Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th August 

The field trip leaves Elizabeth Gate, RBG Kew at 09.15 on 9th August and returns at 16.30 on 11th August.

Itinerary:  Day 1 - 12.00 to 18.00 - Beaulieu Station and Wareham sites.

                 Day 2 - 09.00 to 18.00 - Hartland Moor, Godlington Heath and Studland Bay sites.

                 Day 3 - 09.00 to 16.00 - Burley site, visit to Hampshire Carnivorous Plant Nursery and

                                                         return to Kew.

 Times will be confirmed nearer the date.

 Species:  Drosera rotundifolia, D. intermedia, D. anglica, D. x eloisiana, D. x obovata, Utricularia minor, U. australis, U. intermedia, U. stygia, U. bremii, Pinguicual lusitanica, Sarracenia purpurea ssp purpurea, S. purpurea ssp heterophylla + a small number of other sarracenia species/hybrids.

  1. Coach travel to/from Kew and during the trip, accommodation at the New Forest Youth Hostel (click on link for details and booking), all meals. Price £205.00.
  2. Coach Travel to/from Kew and during the trip, make own arrangements for accommodation/meals.  Contact us at for advice on hotels.  Price £100
  3. Field trip only.  Own transport, accommodation and meals.  Price £50.
